2026 four-star Latrell Allmond hits the game winner in John Marshall thrilling win

Richmond, VA - The 13th annual Coaches for the Cure, presented by Team Loaded, brought together many of Virginia’s best teams alongside national talent in front of a packed crowd at Henrico Sports & Event Center. The event was filled with high-level performances, showcasing some of the top prospects in the region.

The Coaches for the Cure event once again delivered elite competition and standout performances, with top talent continuing to prove why Virginia remains a hotspot for basketball prospects. Expect several of these players to see their stock rise even further as the season progresses. Here are the Top 15 Standouts from the event:

  • Latrell Allmond (2026 6'8 PF, John Marshall) - Top-60 national prospect and Virginia’s top big in 2026; scored 24 points, including a game-winning 3. Shooting 52% from deep. Allmond had Georgetown head coach Ed Cooley and assistants from both Georgetown and VCU courtside watching him. His recruitment is heating up, with offers from Georgetown, VCU, Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Rutgers, and more
  • Kaden Magwood (2025 6'2 G, Combine Academy, Auburn signee) – Elite shot-maker and North Carolina’s No. 1 SG in 2025. Ranked No. 43 by ESPN. Explosive scorer with a quick release.
  • King Bacot (2029 6'3 PG) – Nation’s No. 1 prospect in his class scored 29 points. A smooth 6’3” lefty PG and 3-level scorer with great genes as the younger brother of UNC legend Armando Bacot.
  • Silas Barksdale (2025 6'9 PF, Woodside, VCU Signee) – Virginia's top big in 2025. Strong interior presence, excellent passer out of the post. 16-point game with VCU staff courtside.
  • Josh Hamilton (2025 6'9 PF, Highland School) – Bouncy 6’9” PF, one of Virginia’s top available bigs in 2025 finished with 16 points. Recently offered by Oklahoma State and Charleston.
  • Julian Rivera (2025 6'0 PG, Highland School) – True PG and a coach’s extension on the floor. The lefty leader made winning plays scoring 18 points in win vs. Combine and remains one of the top available PGs in Virginia
  • Deshawn Spellman (2026 6'7 SF, Hopewell) – 6’7” athletic wing with inside-out scoring ability. Named game MVP after dropping 24 points. Holds multiple D1 offers. 
  • Yohance Connor (2026 6'2 SG, Combine Academy) – Top-100 nationally, No. 2 SG in North Carolina. Holds offers from Auburn, Penn State, Wake Forest, and more.
  • Jamese Jordan (2026 6'10 C, Hopewell) – One of the biggest bodies in Virginia’s 2026 class. 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks. Dominant in the paint and tough to move.
  • Nick Byrd (2026 5'10 PG, Hopewell) – Proven winner and knockdown shooter with high-IQ at the PG spot. Averaging 15 PPG on the season with a high assist-to-turnover ratio.
  • John Uzochukwu (2025 6'2 SF, LC Bird) – Scored 32 points in a breakout performance. D2 prospect with an natural ability to score in bunches. Athletic driver with an efficient mid-range game.
  • Donnell Jarrett (2027 6'2 SG, Woodside) – Lethal shooter with a textbook stroke. Scored 21 points vs. John Marshall. High-motor guard with the ability to score over length.
  • MarJaylen Jackson (2026 6'6 PF, Albemarle) – 35-point, 9-rebound performance. Versatile inside-out scorer with soft touch. Grandson of former Sixer and Harlem Globetrotter Jerry Venable.
  • Josiah Parker (2025 6'6 F, Combine Academy (NC), FAU signee) – Versatile forward and Top-150 talent. Productive two-way player who fits well in FAU’s system.
  • Caleb Wyche (2025 5'10 PG, Varina) – Quick PG and floor leader. Finished with 13 points while showcasing his ability to get to the rim and hit the three. Three-sport standout with football offers from Charlotte and ECU.
