Rock Hill, SC - The largest high school & post grad championships in the country Big Shots Prep Nationals was once again an electric atmosphere and full of talent of all levels. The event featured 106 High School and Post Grad teams from 28+ different states at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. College coaches and national media were in attendance throughout the weekend. Champions: CALI PREP (CAN), OAK HILL RED (VA), THE LINSLY SCHOOL (WV) all take home the PREP NATIONALS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
MVP Performers:
* 2024 6’3 combo guard Malko Young of Cali Prep (CAN) was the top 3-point shooter overall in the event finishing PREP NATIONALS with 25 made threes between 3 games. Young averaged a team high 24.7 ppg en route to the championship.
* 2024 6’7 Donovan Rakotonanahary of Oak Hill Academy Red (VA) is as bouncy as it gets at the wing spot. A top available wing in VA's 2024 class showed out once again for Oak Hill Red. Donovan can fly in transition making tough plays at the rim look effortless scoring. Defensively he can defend a number of positions and effects shots with his quick springs. Several high level D2 programs have offered and is attracting more as the season progresses.
* West Virginia's top small forward in the 2025 class, 6’7 D’arrae Goodwin of The Linsly School (WV) goes back to back in winning Prep Nationals title. Fundamentally sound wing that is a floor leader and leads by example as the team's top scorer in all different ways going 3-0 on the weekend. Goodwin holds offers from Marshall, College of Charleston, Bowling Green, Radford, Incarnate Word. Interest from Richmond, Murray State, Princeton, New Mexico, Toledo, Boise State.
Breakout Performer:
* Steady every game out 2025 5’11 PG TJ Jackson of Oak Hill Academy RED (VA) set the tone on the way to the championship. Playmaking lefty point guard Jackson averaged a team high 20.7 ppg. Ranks as a top 10 PG in VA's 2025 class.
*One of Canada's best at the PG spot in 2024 Taj Au-Duke ran the show for Cali Prep in leading his team to victory. As a pure point he set up Malko Young throughout the weekend with countless passes on the money and hit timely shots in crunch team. Au-Duke impressed many Division 1 programs courtside with his floor game throughout the weekend.
*Bouncy 2024 6'1 point guard Armani Henderson of Bull City Prep National (NC) shined once again in leading his team to the title game. Explosive lefty that consistently gets into the paint to make a play. The leader of a Bull City Prep team can score at a high clip. Several D2 and Juco programs were courtside recruiting Armani. A top 5 available PG in NC's 2024 class.
* When 2024 6’6 Jacob Brandly shoots you think it's going down. The shooting forward of Combine Academy Regional (NC) had another 21 ppg outing at Prep Nationals. Holds an offer from WV Tech.
* 2024 6’8 F Affan Razzaq of V3 Prep Academy (CAN), lengthy skilled wing averaged 21 ppg in helping lead V3 to the title game.
