Kobe Edwards is a special talent with elite level athleticism.  A high IQ playmaker who is highly instinctive and skilled well beyond his freshman years.  He has a long frame with plenty of vertical growth potential.  His long wingspan comes in handy on the defensive end where he is a lockdown on ball defender capable of snatching away an opponents dribble at the blink of an eye and quickly converting it into points at the other end of the floor.  Kobe is also a very good rebounder at the guard spot again using a long wingspan, quick elevation and impressive leaping ability.  He’s a shifty guard with a crafty handle featuring quick crossovers, step back crossovers and behind the back dribbles.  He plays off dribble pause action nicely and coupled with his quick first step and long strides is able to initiate a blow by burst and eat up a lot of real estate quickly while attacking the rim.  Kobe attacks angles decisively.  Very difficult to stay in front of with his ability to abruptly stop then restart or change directions and blow by his man with a quick burst.  Kobe likes to initiate contact to create an angle, often using a spin move to separate from his defender.  Nice touch finishing even from difficult angles around the rim  and has the explosiveness to finish above the rim.  He does a great job contorting his body to finish around contact.  Kobe has the uncanny ability to see the whole floor often delivering no look passes and threading the needle with a variety of passes to a cutting teammate.  He can fire a baseball pass off the dribble the length of the floor to a sprinting teammate making it look routine and effortless.  Not just a serious threat off the bounce both as a scorer and a facilitator, Kobe poses a threat with the jumper from all levels.  A very good shooter both off the dribble and off the catch.  He can shoot it with good efficiency out of variety of actions; dribble pull-ups, step back dribbles etc.  Kobe has sound shot mechanics and plays with great confidence.  Although a freshman he welcomes the burden associated with leading a team on a big stage and taking big shots..and he most often comes out on top!  Kobe has already picked up offers from Texas A&M, Radford, East Carolina, Liberty, High Point University and College of Charleston.
