Five-Star Tucker is Virginia's Top Prospect in 2024 Class

Bryson Tucker 6’7 2024 Bishop O’Connell, VA

Bryson has the look of a future pro!  A long, athletic, highly skilled and versatile wing he can handle and get his shot off the bounce or score from anywhere on the floor with the jumper. He is highly instinctive, makes quick reads when attacking off the bounce and possesses a high basketball IQ…he’s a natural!  Bryson has a quick and crafty handle featuring between the legs dribbles and lightening quick crossovers.  He does a nice job keeping the dribble low as he navigates traffic.  He can drive hard in either direction and stop on a dime for the dribble pullup.  Does a great job getting to his spots for the jumper and getting the ball off the floor and out of his hand quickly.  He has excellent footwork and his combination of rangy strides, stop/start ability and quick burst allows him to quickly eat up a lot of real estate and blow by most defenders with ease.  He played soccer during his younger years and you can see the results of that experience in his superb footwork, agility and quick feet.  He is an explosive leaper who plays above the rim but also employs a soft touch and a variety of finishing moves on non dunk finishes.  He can score with either hand at the rim.  Bryson is a threat from beyond the arc scoring off the catch or stepping in off the dribble showcasing fluid mechanics.  He is extremely agile, runs the floor exceptionally well.  Bryson uses jabs, quick spin moves attacking off the bounce.  Uses his off hand nicely.  Hits the step back jumper at an efficient rate.  He can score with his back to the basket often using a turnaround jumper over his right shoulder.  Bryson plays with great energy on both ends of the floor and provides defensive versatility.  He can guard either wing on the  perimeter, his quick feet and a 6’9 wingspan help to make him an intimidating defensive presence both on the ball, in passing lanes and while defending the paint.  Bryson is an explosive leaper, quick off the floor with quick gathers for second jumps.  He is an active rebounder and shot blocker.  Bryson helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the U16 Americas Championships in 2021.  He was one of the younger members on the team, only 15 years old at that time.  Bryson comes from strong basketball roots as his Dad, Byron Tucker played a year at NC State and three years of college basketball at George Mason University.  A 5 star talent, Bryson currently holds offers from Duke, Michigan State, Kansas, Indiana, Auburn, Maryland, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Villanova, Michigan, Illinois, among others.  His ceiling is unlimited!
