Top 10 Standouts from a star studded event in Hampton, VA

Jaeden Mustaf 6’4 2024 Carmel Christian, NC (Boo Williams EYBL)

Jaeden has a college ready frame, a terrific feel and a nice combination of toughness and skill that allows him to impact both ends of the floor.  He uses his crafty handle, superb footwork and a strong upper body nicely on the drive looking to attack angles and maneuver his 205 pound frame to the rim where he is a terrific finisher.  Jaeden is a threat from anywhere on the floor knocking down three pointers both off the catch and off the dribble.  He hits the dribble pullup at a high rate and is skillful, physical and crafty on the drive using contact for leverage and changing speeds seamlessly.  He can drive you right and then suddenly spin back the opposite direction sealing you with his powerful frame and exploding to the rim where he can finish with both hands.  He can also break you down off the dribble and beat you with a nice burst using his off hand and strong upper body effectively if needed although his burst, both quick and powerful is more than sufficient.  He brings that same toughness and energy on the defensive end with sound footwork, quickness and toughness both on and off the ball and is an active rebounding presence from the guard position.  Jaeden, the son of former NBA forward Jerrod Mustaf averaged over 20ppg during the Boo Williams Legacy Classic highlighted by a 26 point effort against Washington Warriors Prospect U Blue 3SSB on Sunday morning.  One of the top point guards nationally by Big Shots, Jaeden recently narrowed his list of schools to Florida State, Indiana, Miami, NC State, Va Tech.

Ben Nacey 6’9 2024 Team Push VA (Cox HS, VA)

Ben has been ranked a top 5 big in VA by Big Shots but continues to show more athleticism on both ends of the floor and more finesse around the rim to compliment his strong 6’9 frame.  Using duck ins and pin downs he overwhelms most defenders with his size and strength and scores with a feathery touch using the glass over either shoulder.  His back to the basket variety is impressive most often the jump hook over his left shoulder but can drop step and score either way and finishes with both hands at the rim.  Ben moves without the ball nicely, has great hands and ability to finish off the catch or put the ball on the floor within 15 feet and make a play.  Hits the spot up jumper with three point range at a very good rate.  Active on the glass on both ends and has great timing for put backs.  He’s quicker off his feet than we’ve seen yet always has shown excellent timing and closeout quickness for blocks and to establish defensive positioning.  Sets great screens, ideal as a pick and pop or pick and roll candidate.  Seals his man effectively for entry passes and is automatic when he catches it deep. Also a very good passer.  Ben was a key in leading Team Push VA to a Sunday win over Boo Williams as he scored 14 points.  He scored 8 straight in the final ninety seconds allowing Team Push to pull away for the win. Ben followed that up with a 23 point performance against Big Shots SC Select and earned MVP honors as Team Push VA took home the 17U title.

Eiden Harvey 5’10 2024 Team Loaded 804 (Hermitage HS, VA)

Eiden was raining three pointers all weekend long and showed why he was a 1st team All Region selection this past high school season.  Mixing  a powerful frame with impressive quickness he is able to beat defenders off the bounce and score in the lane or after a blow by burst suddenly brake and stick the pull up jumper at an efficient rate.  If you give him the slightest space to account for his sudden burst off the dribble he will hurt you with the three pointer as he did this weekend with great consistency.  Eiden scored 18 points on six 3-pointers Saturday morning and followed that up in the afternoon with a 16 point effort.  Able to play either guard position he can score in a variety of ways while also creating for others.  A relentless defender witg sound footwork, lateral quickness and strength.

Elijah Carroll 6’4 2023 Showtime Elite

Elijah has good length at the guard position featuring a long wingspan and has a motor that stays in full gear on both ends of the floor.  Great effort guy also as I saw more than a few time where he sprinted back to knock the ball away from behind to thwart the opponents fast break and saw a couple blocks at the rim sprinting back as he transitions so nicely from offense to defense.  That same energy is apparent on the offensive side of the ball.  Elijah is more of a downhill attacker with a lightning quick first step and quick, rangy strides.  He’s a high flyer, fearless attacking the rim and has excellent leaping ability.  He was also very good finishing over and around contact, able to maneuver himself through traffic showing excellent body control and touch on non dunk finishes.  He won a title game against BWSL Gold 17U with a quick baseline drive showing his blow by ability and a nice finish at the rim beating a pair of defenders as the buzzer sounded.  Elijah averaged over 14ppg during the weekend leading Showtime Ballerz to the 17U Silver title.

Jason Clarke, Jr 6’1 2024  Washington Warriors Prospect U Blue 3SSB (Word of Life, VA

Jason is an exciting player to watch given his ability to score in bunches and with variety.  He can beat you off the bounce with solid ball handling skills and quick change of direction.  Nice change of pace, uses behind the back, crossover dribbles and between the legs dribbles and can perform each without losing stride then shift into another fear attacking after a dribble move.  He has a great touch shooting in the move.  Uses spin moves and step backs.  He can fill it up from beyond the arc.  Scores on the move exceptionally well while also being a threat off the ball with quick catch and shoot action.  He is a crafty finisher able to negotiate around contact and hang in the air to finish. Jason averaged 16 ppg for the weekend including a 31 point performance in a loss against Boo Williams EYBL.  Big scoring outbursts are the norm for Clarke who averaged 31ppg and 7.1rpg at Word of Lfe Christian Academy.

Nicholas Hamrick 6’8 2024 BOO WILLIAMS EYBL 2024 (Westminster Catawba Christian Academy, NC)

Nick has a long, lanky frame with fluid athleticism and agility that allows him to play multiple positions.  A point forward type who can shoot it off the dribble with deep three point range and has a fluid stroke.  Shows some crafty ball handling and shiftiness off the dribble and does a great job staying low and keeping his dribble low given his length.  Has a really quick crossover and a nice burst off that dribble move.  He hits the pull up and uses his length nicely attacking the rim showing good body control given his length as he slashes through the lane. Demonstrates good court vision and ability to deliver accurate and timely passes.  Nick defends the perimeter nicely;  moves his feet well, nimble footed.  Also drops down and rebounds.  Shot blocking threat.  Nick has heard from the likes of College of Charleston, SMU, Appalachian State, Furman, Western Carolina, Winthrop.

Milyan Smith Walker 6’5 2023 Team Resilience United (York HS, VA)

Milyan is a bruising playmaker who can beat you at all levels but is most dangerous attacking off the bounce where he uses basic crossovers, a solid first step and physicality.  He can finish above the rim with powerful leaping ability and fearlessness or end the drive with the pullup showing fluid mechanics and good balance.  He’s a good passer on the move as well and makes defenses pay as draws the attention of multiple defenders and does a nice job finding open teammates.  Milyan is a better three point shooter off the catch and moves without the ball nicely often cutting to the middle from the weak side or flashing to open spots off the baseline to a short corner extended or foul line area for catch and shoot jumpers.  a lefty shooter he is very good in the mid range, efficient.  Milyan is a double double guy who averaged over 20 points and 10  rebounds per game for York High School for the second year in a row which earned him Bay Rivers District Player of the Year honors and a third All Region 3A selection.  Milyan scored 45 points in three games Saturday and was among the leading scorers during the Boo Williams Legacy Classic.

Jordan Leaks 6’4 2023 Team Push VA (Phoebus HS, VA)

Jordan is a Top 5 guard in VA by Big Shots but remains surprisingly under the radar.  A long and extremely athletic playmaker he can drive hard going left or right and score showing equal quickness and variety going in either direction.  Plays off the ball nicely, sprints through his cuts and stays on the move to get open for quick catch and shoot jumpers.  Sound mechanics.  Highly accurate shooter from all levels, very good shooting off screens.  Jordan is a big play maker who brings great energy and enthusiasm on both ends of the floor.  He defends with a chip on his shoulder and is also a very good rebounding guard.  Jordan is a 2X All Region selection.

Jy Gladden 6’2 2023 Big Shots SC Premier (Lancaster HS, SC)

Jy is an excellent playmaker!  A threat as a scorer and a passer showing impeccable vision and the ability to deliver pinpoint passes at any time to a cutter.  Excellent passing off the dribble and puts teammates in a position to be successful.  Jy uses crossovers, between the legs dribble.  He’s shifty with quick change of direction moves and quick bursts and can turn the corner on you with a blow by burst or catch you leaning and suddenly explode to the rim where he is a crafty finisher with great touch.  Most often scores attacking off the bounce but that is because he can get to the rim with regularity but Jy can also hit the jumper with three point range.  Can play either guard position and is so good creating for others.

Josh Helms 6’0 2024  Wilmington Excel (Laney HS, NC)

Ranked among the top 2024 point guards in North Carolina by Big Shots and is a 2X All MEC performer, Josh showed his impressive playmaking skills creating for himself and for others off the bounce while also showcasing a deft shooting touch from all levels.  He shot 41%  from behind the arc this season and 34% as a sophomore for Laney HS.  Josh attacks closeouts effectively, gets into the lane seemingly at will where he provides a threat both as a scorer and a passer.  Does a nice job getting to his spots for the pullup jumper demonstrating excellent footwork and is highly efficient, great touch.

Cam Fowler 6’4 2026 Rising Pros Training Big Shots (Northwood HS, NC)

Cam can flat out shoot it!  He averaged over 15ppg for the weekend and shot the ball well from all levels.  A serious threat from beyond the arc where he connected on over 45% of his attempts during the high school season.  Cam has great size, strong and athletically gifted, tough.  He looks to get downhill attacking off the bounce and his strong frame allows him to play through contact.  A two foot finisher.

Chad Graves 6’8 2026 Rising Pros Training Big Shots (Northwood HS, NC)

Chad is one of the top bigs in NC 2026!  He true rim protector with length, athleticism, good quickness and very good leaping ability…not to mention a 6’8 frame with a 6’10 wingspan!  He has very good footwork and a great motor.  An imposing paint presence who also has the anticipation and quickness to get in passing lanes and also to defend either wing out on the perimeter.  On the offensive end he’s a high flyer who will dunk at evey opportunity.  Very good footwork and a great touch around the rim.  He poured in 22 and then 25 points in back to back games over the weekend.
