Rock Hill, SC - In its fourth year the Big Shots Prep Nationals had incredible talent and hosted several top teams in the nation. Over 105 highschool and post grad teams made this years event the biggest high school event for Big Shots to date. Prep Nationals featured hundreds of available prospects and a number of ranked players in the nation. Teams from over 3 countries, and 15 states traveled to the Rock Hill Sports and Events Center all for one common goal, to be name National Champs.
Grace Brethen (MD) -
Damien Jones was huge for Grace Brethen as they went undefeated in the Platinum division to be named Prep National Champions. Jones averaged over 21 PPG to help lead the charge and came up big in the title game. Grace Brethen faced off against Combine Reigonal in the championship and it came down to the last possession. GB needed 1 stop in the final seconds and they held off Combine to win 65-64. Tre Hawkins for Grace Brethen was also clicking offensively, averaging over 18 ppg.
San Jose Prep (FL) -
San Jose Prep came into Big Shot Prep Nationals after coming up short at the Big Shots Charleston Inv. San Jose completed the mission after winning the title game against Raleigh Christian Academy by 1 point. Keenan Johnson was named MVP for San Jose as he led the team in scoring, while also scoring his tournament high 21 points in the semifinal game. The 6'7 wing was one of the top prospects in the division and turned some heads with his abilies. Keenan Johnson is currently verbally committed to Erskine College.
