Virginia Beach, VA- Big Shots Virginia Beach Jam was another standout event. This year's event was packed with over 140 teams in the newly built Virginia Beach Sports Center.
BWSL Kelly controlled the Varsity Girls Division every step of the way this weekend as they cruised to a 55-36 win over Fly High Athletics. Yasmine brown was named the most outstanding player in the championship game as she finished with a game high 12 points. Brown was very efficient in the win over Fly High and had it going for most of the game. BWSL Kelly had multiple superstars in the division that really stood out. Quiana Vazquez was one of those standouts for BWSL Kelly. Vazquez led the team in scoring with 9.8 PPG. The guard play from Vazquez & Brown was the difference maker in this one as they were super efficient scoring and facilitating the ball.
Another Standout performer in the division was Ruby Adkins from BWSL Central VA. Adkins really put on a display scoring the basketball, and it showed as she led the division in scoring at 17.0 PPG. She is an elite shooter, and was one of the best in the division. Adkins is in the class of 22' and attends St. Annes-Belfield, where she averaged over 23 PPG last high school season. Look for Adkins to have a breakout summer.
