Flight 22 Elite UA Rise claims 17U Gold Championship

The 17U division didn’t disappoint in the title game of the Big Shots Carolina Finale as Flight 22 Elite UA Rise and Big Shots Elite Tri-Cities Orange squared off in a 3-point shootout that saw them make a combined 23 3-pointers. In the end, Flight 22 got a 75-68 victory thanks to five 3-pointers and 22 points from Charlie Miller (6’0, 2021 Guard, Lumberton HS). Miller was one of four players to finish in double-figures scoring for Flight 22 as Reece Edwards (6’0, 2020 Guard, Laney HS) posted 17 points on four made 3-pointers, Bradlee Haskell (6’2, 2021 Guard, Pinecrest HS) finished with 16 point on two made 3-pointers and Bryce Harris (6’6, 2021 Wing/Forward, Putnam Science Academy) put up 10 points as they overcame a 3-point barrage from their opponent to secure the victory. Haskell took home MVP honors for Flight 22 in the 17U division. 

For Big Shots Elite Tri-Cities Orange, Jalen Leftwich (6’3, 2021 Point Guard, Lynchburg Christian) led the charge on offense for them with 19 points and three made 3-pointers while Dre Watson (6’9, 2021 Forward, Moravian Prep) put up 16 points and a 3-pointer of his own and Nick Owens (5’6, 2021 Guard, Graham HS) finished with 12 points on four made 3-pointers. 

Bronze Champion: Carolina Bulldogs

Standouts: Jaheim Taylor: 14.8ppg  (6’3, 2021 Guard/Wing, Princeton HS) and Malichi Williams: 15.0ppg (6’1, 2021 Guard, Goose Creek HS)

Renegades Elite - Cryer upends Team HoopState (THS) in 16U Gold Title Game

It was a battle in the 16U Gold Bracket Championship game between Renegades Elite - Cryer and Team HoopState. Renegades Elite squeaked out a 51-48 victory to complete their weekend unbeaten. Jaxon Brown (5’11, 2022 Guard, Wakefield HS) and Dre Prince (6’0, 2022 Guard, Wake Forest HS) were two standouts in the close victory. Brown put up 18 points, showing off his relentless ability to attack the rim, while also making a 3-pointer. Prince did a little bittle of everything, making two 3-pointers and four free throws on his way to 12 points. Carson Cryer (5’10, 2022 Point Guard, Wakefield HS) also finished with 10 points and two made 3-pointers at the point guard spot.

Renegades Elite overcame 11 points, seven of them free throws, from THS guard Keon Webb (6’0, Guard, Riverside-Durham HS) and 8 points from Deavion Wimbly (6’0, 2022 Point Guard, South View HS).

Silver Champion: Rock Nation Impact 2022

Standouts: Javari Stephens: 14.5ppg (6’1, 2022 Guard, Summerville HS) and Jahleel Porter: 11.7ppg (6’0, 2022 Guard, West Ashley HS)

Big Shots Elite NC Lewis reigns supreme in 15U Gold Title Game

Isaiah Washington (6’4, 2023 Guard, Pine Forest HS), Treymane Parker (6’2, 2023 Guard, Cape Fear HS) and Alik Lewis (6’1, 2023 Point Guard, Alamance Christian) picked up where they left off for Big Shots Elite NC Lewis on Day 1 in their championship matchup against Team HoopState as they got a 66-65 victory to conclude the weekend. Washington put up 20 points and Parker put up 17 points to overcome the trio of Jaybron Harvey (6’4, 2023 Forward, Southern HS), Amari Odom (6’2, 2023 Guard, Panther Creek HS) and Keshawn Brown (5’11, 2023 Point Guard, Cary Academy). Washington and Parker were relentless getting to the rim and the free throw line as they closed out the event with a victory and a championship. 

Harvey finished with 16 points, while Brown put up 20 points and Odom put up 18 points while each making four 3-pointers. THS will be a team to watch on the grassroots scene at the 15U level.

Standouts: Calvin Dalvinroy (6’2, 2023 Guard/Wing, Wando HS), Charlie Ranney (6’2, 2023 Forward/Wing, Bishop England), Lukas Schou (6’5, 2023 Forward, Oceanside HS)

Big Shots Elite NC/TLBA Hoops triumphs over Big Shots Select NC in 14U Gold Championship

In the 14U division, Big Shots Elite NC took home the Gold Championship 64-41 over Big Shots Select NC. Nylan Battle (5’11, 2024 Guard, W. Lenoir MS) took home MVP honors in the game as they won the game with just six players. They’re a strong bunch led by Battle, Jaylen Cross (6’2, 2024 Wing/Forward, NW Guilford MS), Isaac Ellis (5’3, 2026 Point Guard, Homeschool), Eli Ellis (5’11, 2025 Guard, Homeschool), Alex Olander (6’3, 2024 Forward, Ravenscroft MS), Benny Limbacher (5’9, 2024 Guard, High Point Christian) and Amare Bethel (6’2, 2024 Guard, Northwood Temple).

3rd Place: Team Equal

Standouts: Jaylen Wright (5’9, 2024 Guard, M. Williams MS), Joseph Lemmon (5’3, 2028 Point Guard, Cornerstone Christian)
