Catching Up with NC 2022 G Jefferson McLamb

Jefferson McLamb is a rising junior at Wesleyan Christian Academy in the NC 2022 class. The skilled slashing guard does a great job of using his length and athleticism to get to the rim in the halfcourt as well as in transition. McLamb has a high basketball IQ and plays hard on both ends of the floor. He is capable of going to the glass to get boards for his team. McLamb has a knack for finishing around the basket, but he can also shoot the ball with great form and shot mechanics. Jefferson will be playing travel ball with Team Flash and is definitely one for coaches to keep a close eye on as he continues to grow and develop.

We had a chance to catch up with Jefferson McLamb and hear more about his recruitment, what he is looking for in a school, and his development as a player.

Question: Which Schools are showing you the interest?

Jefferson McLamb: “I have no interest right now, but I’m hoping to change that.”

Question: How did your high school season end up?

McLamb: “It was great, I learned a lot and grew as a player, not only physically but mentally as well.”

Question: Were there any highlights or memorable moments throughout the year?

McLamb: “Beating word of God and Isaiah Todd was definitely the most memorable.”

Question: What qualities are you looking for in your potential college coach and program?

McLamb: “A coach that wants to win and will push me in every aspect of life.”

Question: How would you describe your game on the court?

McLamb: “I’m long and athletic and I love to take the ball to the basket.”

Question: In what areas of your game would you like to improve as you prepare for the next level?

McLamb: “I want to keep growing and getting faster and becoming a better guard.”

Question: Who is your favorite player to study and why?

McLamb: “Tyler Herro is my favorite player to study because I feel like I play exactly like him.”

Question: How have you been able to manage the quarantine while continuing to train and get better as a player?

McLamb: “I’ve been in the weight room lifting and getting stronger, and getting up tons of shots and working on myself to be better at the next level.”

We look forward to keeping up with Jefferson and continuing to follow his progression as a very talented player in NC’s 2022 class.
