Take a look at some early names to get to know in DC/Maryland's 2023 class.

#1 Kwame Evans Jr. - 6'8 Wing/Forward - Poly

The first thing that sticks out about Kwame Evans Jr. right away is his size at 6-foot-8. He's got guard play as well as the ability to play in the post. He's already featured on a Poly squad that went 25-2 in 2019-20 and another state final appearance. With some senior departures, he's due for a breakout campaign in 2020-21. He holds a number of offers already from the likes of Auburn, Virginia Tech, DePaul, Georgetown and others.

#2 Amani Hansberry - 6'8 Forward/Center - St. John's

St. John's has quite the prospect on their hands with big man Amani Hansberry. Hansberry held his own in the WCAC despite being only a freshman in the ranks, showing off his traditional big man skills. He's already a solid back-to-the-basket threat in the post and as he expands his game to the perimeter, he'll only become a bigger threat on the floor. He's another 2023 prospect in the area already with offers from DePaul, Texas A&M, Rhode Island and Virginia Tech.

#3 Jacoi Hutchinson - 6'1 Guard - DeMatha

Jacoi Hutchinson has a chance to grow into quite the combo role at the storied DeMatha High School under head coach Mike Jones. He's a smooth playmaker that makes things look easy when getting to the rim and scoring despite his youth. He's a competitor on the defensive end as well that looks to get easy points off steals. He'll be one to watch in the area for years to come.

#4 Mathani Paul-Swinson - 5'11 Point Guard - McDonogh

Mathani Paul-Swinson is a young floor general with quite the upside at McDonogh High School. He's an energy guy that finds his best game when pestering opponents on the defensive end and making things uncomfortable for them on that end. Offensively, he's a shifty ballhandler that finishes in traffic with ease. Keep an eye on him in the Maryland area.

#5 Mike Williams - 6'3 Guard - Calvert Hall

Calvert Hall went through some growing pains in 2019-20 but, they've got a tough young core, beginning with Mike Williams. Williams is an athletic guard that looks to finish at the rim on every occasion. He's got tons of room to develop as a shooter but right now, he uses his assets for the greater good. He holds an offer already from UMass.

#6 Cam Gillus - 5'10 Guard - Sidwell Friends

Cam Gillus is the latest in a line of prospects from Sidwell Friends that have excelled under head coach Eric Singletary. He's a floor general with a high IQ for playmaking without turning the ball over. He showed to be a solid piece alongside 2021 sharpshooter Ryan Cornish. On defense, he looks to make his presence felt and as he gets stronger, he can be very good on that end as well.

#7 Raymond Watts - 6'2 Guard - Bishop McNamara

Raymond Watts is an emerging prospect in the backcourt at Bishop McNamara. He's an athletic guard that looks to get downhill on the drive and finish at the rim. He's still developing as more than a guard and given his length, a lot can change over the next few seasons. He'll be an early name to keep on the radar.

#8 Bryson Wilson - 6'4 Wing/Forward - Maret

Bryson Wilson is a young versatile prospect at Maret that's shown early signs of success. He showed off his ability to operate on all three levels at times in his debut season in the MAC. He's still adjusting to the speed of the game at the varsity level as well as his new role but as the years progress, he's a prospect that should have a successful career for Maret.

#9 Zane Adnan - 6'2 Guard - Bullis

Zane Adnan is a name to get to know at Bullis School in th IAC as they went 21-7 on the year and 7-2 in conference action. He averaged 9.2 points per game and that should grow in 2020-21 as his role should heading into his sophomore season. Adnan is a young guard with tons of confidence when the ball comes his way, regardless of opponent.

#10 Jahnathan Lamothe - 6'3 Guard - St. Frances

Jahnathan Lamothe is a versatile prospect at St. Frances with quite the upside. He showed he belonged on the floor with top players all season long despite his youth alongside Ace Baldwin. With a growing role and budding athleticism entering 2020-21, the sky is the limit for Lamothe heading into 3 more seasons of hoops in the area.
