Catching Up with GA 2021 PG Broc Bidwell

Broc Bidwell is a GA 2021 PG with ultimate range and elite shooting ability off the bounce. Bidwell does not need much space to get his shot off in the halfcourt. He has a great handle and uses his skills to break defenders down off the bounce and touch the paint where he can finish well or find his teammates for easy scoring opportunities. Bidwell plays really well out of high ball screens and dribble handoffs. In transition, he loves to push the tempo and score using a variety of moves with the Euro step being his go-to. On the defensive end, Broc does a nice job of staying in a low stance with active hands allowing him to pick up multiple steals per game. Bidwell is a leader on the court and makes his teammates better.

We had a chance to catch up with Broc Bidwell and hear more about his recruitment, what he is looking for in a school, and his development as a player.

Question: Which Schools are showing you the interest?

Broc Bidwell: “A large amount of schools are showing interest such as Army, Yale, Samford, VMI, UNCG, Wofford, Liberty, Belmont, and others.”

Question: How did your high school season end up?

Bidwell: “We ended the high school season with the best record in school history.”

Bidwell: “My most memorable moment was I made a game winning buzzer beater over our rival school to make the state playoffs.”

Question: What qualities are you looking for in your potential college coach and program?

Bidwell: “I want a Coach that is willing to develop players into better basketball players and also prepare them for the future. Also, I’m looking for a program/Coach that plays uptempo and runs the floor.”

Question: How would you describe your game on the court?

Bidwell: “I am a player that can control the pace of the game, getting other teammates involved and also being an extension of the coach on the court. I am able to score the ball also if and when needed.”

Question: Who is your favorite player to study and why?

Bidwell: “I enjoy Trae Young due to his range shooting the ball, scoring ability, and also the way he does both those things while also being a floor general.”

Question: How have you been able to manage the quarantine while continuing to train and get better as a player?

Bidwell: “During Quarantine I have been focusing on becoming a better athlete. I have been in the weight room everyday while also continuing to workout on the court.”

We look forward to keeping up with Broc and continuing to follow his progression as a very talented player in GA’s 2021 class.
