Catching Up with NC POY Jaden Bradley

Jaden Bradley is the #1 point guard in the 2022 Class and ranked 7th overall in the ESPN rankings. Bradley put on a show in his sophomore season earning accolades such as State Player of the Year, Gatorade Player of the Year, and MaxPreps Player of the Year in the state of North Carolina. During his sophomore season, Bradley averaged 23.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 2.9 steals to lead Cannon School to their first state title since 2006. He currently holds offers from 20+ schools with the most recent being North Carolina, Michigan, Louisville, and Kansas. 

We had a chance to catch up with Jaden Bradley to hear about his recruitment, what he is looking for in a school and his development as a player.

How has the recruiting process been and which schools are showing you the most interest?

Jaden: The recruiting process has been crazy, I have more than 23 offers now. There are a lot of schools that have shown me a lot, there are too many to name and I don’t want to leave anyone out. 

What qualities are you looking for in your potential college coach and program? 

Jaden: I am looking for a family environment, I am looking for a coach that will push me and help me get better as a point guard. 

How would you describe your game on the court? 

Jaden: I love to get my teammates involved, I love to push In transition. And score from all three levels. 

In what areas of your game would you like to improve as you prepare for the next level?

Jaden: Areas I would like to improve in is being a better leader on the court. Also just mastering the fundamentals and the little things. 

Who is your favorite player to study and why? 

Jaden: I like to study Paul George. I like the way he can create separation. I also love his ability to be a two-way player. 

What does it mean to you to join the great list of players in the HoopState as the Gatorade Player of the Year?

Jaden: It’s a blessing just to be a part of the Gatorade family. It showed me what hard work can get me and motivated me to just go harder. 

You took over late in the state title game how did it feel to lead your team to a state championship as a sophomore? 

Jaden: It felt good to lead my team to a state championship. Late in the game, my team just believed in me and we got the job done. 

Have you had any recent recruiting Zoom calls with college programs? Do you have any scheduled in the upcoming weeks?

Jaden: So far I’ve had one zoom call with Louisville. I don’t have any zoom calls scheduled at this time. 

How has playing in Big Shots events helped your player development and recruitment?

Jaden: I love Big Shots basketball. They helped me get my name out and they were so supportive. Big Shots basketball tournaments are always very competitive.
