Catching Up with WV 2021 Brandon Brown

Brandon Brown is a 6’2 lefty shooting guard from Teays Valley High School. He is an athletic slasher that can run the floor and gets to the rim quickly. He is a “high flyer” and has had several posters over the years in Big Shots. Brandon loves to finish with authority and is not afraid to get physical with the opponent. Brandon is a competitor and loves the feeling of competition and you see that every time he steps on the floor.

We had a chance to catch up with Brandon Brown to hear about his recruitment, what he is looking for in a school, and his development as a player.

How has the recruiting process been and which schools are showing you the most interest?

Brandon: My recruiting process has been great so far. I’ve got a few D2 offers but I’ve talked to over ten D1 schools the past month or so. The schools showing the most interest right now are probably Lipscomb and Rhode island

What qualities are you looking for in your potential college coach and program?

Brandon: I'm looking for somewhere that just feels like home. I’m not worried about the location as long as when I get there I feel comfortable and can make an impact coming in as a freshman.

How would you describe your game on the court?

Brandon: I would describe my game as knowledgeable. I feel like I know the game better than anyone and have a very good feel for the game that allows me to almost see things before they happen. and that applies to life too because I’m very methodical and don’t do things without a purpose.

Who is your favorite player to study and why?

Brandon: My favorite player to study is Kobe just because he had such a different approach to the game than anyone from a mental standpoint.

How has playing in Big Shots events helped your player development and recruitment?

Brandon: Playing in the Big Shots events has helped me tremendously. I've met so many people and talked to so many coaches. The competition is always great and they are very well hosted.

We look forward to keeping up with Brandon and continuing to follow his progression as a very talented player in WV’s 2021 class.
