Catching Up with SC 2021 SG RJ Felton

RJ Felton is a high flyer in the SC 2021 class. He has nice strength for a guard of his size and isn’t afraid to finish above the rim. Felton has also worked on his shooting and consistently knocks down the three. He is elite in the open court and can score on the break as well as find his teammates. Felton plays with a swagger and confidence that helps him separate himself from the competition. The Aiken high school junior currently holds offers from the College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, North Florida, USC Upstate, and Presbyterian with several other schools showing interest. Felton has been a dominant force at several Big Shots events and will continue to emerge as a rising prospect in the South Carolina class.

We had a chance to catch up with RJ Felton and hear more about his recruitment, what he is looking for in a school, and his development as a player.

Question: How has the recruiting process been and which schools are showing you the most interest?

Felton: “On the court: I’m a 2-way point guard that can guard a team's best player, Very skilled and athletic, that can score on all 3 levels and can be a very good passer.”

Question: In what areas of your game would you like to improve as you prepare for the next level?

Felton: “I would like to improve on my lateral quickness and my agility, and improve on my shot.”

Question: Who is your favorite player to study and why?

Felton: “My favorite player to study is Michael Jordan: The reason why I love to study Mike is because he's the goat and he has another gear to himself in critical situations and he’s unstoppable.”

Question: How has playing in Big Shots events helped your player development and recruitment?

Felton: “Well my mom did most of my recruitment and reaching out to coaches. But Big Shots gave me some exposure in front of college coaches. And overall Big Shots is a great platform for college coaches to reach players....BTW my lil brother is next up.”

We look forward to keeping up with RJ and continuing to follow his progression as a very talented player in SC’s 2021 class.
