Here's a look at the teams and prospects to watch in Day 1 in the 2019 Governor's Challenge.

Day 1

Oakdale (MD) vs. Potomac (VA)
5:00 PM

2021 forward Tyrell Harris of Potomac (VA) faces off against a 4-0 Oakdale squad with some junior and senior experience and size. 2021 forward Lucas Labarbera and 2020 forward Jackson Wright are a few names to watch.

Monsignor Bonner vs. Olympic
8:30 PM

Monsignor Bonner's senior backcourt of Tyreese Watson and Donovan Rodriguez faces off against 2020 guard Josh Banks, who is VCU bound, and 2021 guard Trevon Williams. It'll be an interesting matchup to close out the Day 1 slate.

2020 Guard, Elijah Allen, Dover

Elijah Allen leads a talented backcourt for the Dover Senators in 2019-20. He can operate off the dribble and make things happen with his size at 6-foot-2. He'll be one to watch on Day 1 against Wicomico High School.

2020 Guard, Eden Davis, Dover

Eden Davis is a senior guard with a ton of game as his Dover Senators squad is 9-0. The 6-foot guard is a talented one in a backcourt with Elijah Allen. Davis is headed to Texas A&M Corpus Christi after this season.

2020 Guard, Ethan Wilson, Osbourn Park

Osbourn Park's Ethan Wilson has slowly climbed up the recruiting radar in Virginia's 2020 class. He's a combo guard that makes things happen on both ends of the floor. He'll be one to watch against Linganore (MD).

2020 Guard, Amir Williams, Linden

The Linden Tigers and senior guard Amir Williams head into the 2019 Governor's Challenge with a 2-0 record. The 6-foot-3 guard is averaging 21.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per contest through their two victories.

2020 Forward, Evan Joyner, Piedmont Classical

NC A&T commit Evan Joyner leads a strong senior group for Piedmont Classical. He's a versatile player at 6-foot-8 that can operate from the perimeter and in the post. He'll be fun to watch on Day 1, especially on the fastbreak.

2020 Guard, Jalen Joiner, Piedmont Classical

Jalen Joiner is a 6-foot-4 guard that flies around for rebounds and layups on the fastbreak. Joiner does well to play his role as clean up man and defender. He's a prospect deserving of some looks from college coaches.

2020 Guard/Wing, Trent McIntyre, Piedmont Classical

Trent McIntyre is another unsigned senior that's turning heads in the Piedmont Classical rotation. He's a 6-foot-4 combo guard that can fill up the stat sheet when needed. College coaches will want to get eyes on him at the 2019 Governor's Challenge.

2021 Guard, Jamarii Thomas, Piedmont Classical

Junior point guard Jamarii Thomas controls the pace well with his speed and quickness with the ball in his hands for Piedmont Classical. He's a prospect that colleges are starting to recruit in 2019-20.

2020 Center, Gabe Aluma, Stephen Decatur

6-foot-9 center Gabe Aluma will bring his paint presence to the Governor's Challenge looking to make an impact in the frontcourt for Stephen Decatur. He'll be a sizeable player to watch in the rotation.

2020 GUArd, Drew Haueisen, Stephen Decatur

Unsigned senior guard Drew Haueisen is another new face at Stephen Decatur that should make an impact in their rotation. He's a 6-foot-3 guard to keep an eye on on the hardwood.
