Maryland/DC Rankings: A look at the Top 10 Point Guards in the 2022 class

Here's a look at the Top 10 point guards in the Maryland/DC area.

1. Rodney Rice, Bullis

Rodney Rice is a point guard slowly climbing up the recruiting ranks at Bullis Prep. He's a guard that can play and off the ball with his size at 6-foot-3. He can really fill it up from deep. He holds offers from Providence, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Seton Hall, among others.

2. Christian Winborne, Gilman

Christian Winborne is ready to carry more of the load on offense entering his sophomore season at Gilman.  He showed potential last season and over the summer with his ability to push the pace on the break and create off the dribble drive. Winborne is due for a breakout season in 2019-20. He holds an offer from Kansas State.

3. Devin Dinkins, Gonzaga

Devin Dinkins is a strong point guard in the backcourt at Gonzaga College High School with his knack for scoring and making plays with the ball in his hands. Dinkins is on one of the top squads in the WCAC and alongside Chuck Harris, Myles Stute and Terence Williams and due to have a strong 2019-20 campaign.  He's also quite the defender. He has an offer already from Bryant University.

4. Trey Thomas, Wise

Trey Thomas is a strong combo guard that competes on both ends in the 2022 class. Thomas will be a new addition at Wise High School in 2019-20. He's got nice length at 6-foot-2 that he uses well to get to the paint and finish and finish on the perimeter. He'll be a key member of the Pumas rotation this season. He holds offers from Rhode Island and IUPUI.

5. Antonio Hamlin, Mount St. Joseph

Antonio Hamlin played a big role in the Mount St. Joseph's backcourt as a freshman. He'll be a bigger contributor entering his sophomore season. He's a guard with a strong build at 6-foot-2 that uses his frame to bypass defenders and finish in the paint. Look for him to play a role as a tempo changer for the Gaels this season.

6. Shane Lancaster, St. John's

Shane Lancaster is a budding sophomore prospect in the D.C. area that's slowly drawing some attention. He's a player that can develop into a solid floor general over the next few seasons at St. John's College High School. He uses his 6-foot-2 frame well to create in traffic and learning how to get to the foul line quite frequently. He'll have fellow big man Amani Hansberry in the post to take some pressure off him in the backcourt as well.

7. Carlos Alexander, Mervo

Carlos Alexander will make his debut in 2019-20 for Mervo High School. Alexander will be a new face in the backcourt after transferring recently. He's a lefty with a quick burst off the dribble and should develop into quite the prospect in the near future. He has offers from UMass and Kansas State as well.

8. Bryce Lindsay, Poly

Bryce Lindsay is an emerging combo guard at Baltimore Poly that can run the show and shoot the 3-ball at a high level. Lindsay should play a bigger support role off the bench as a second distributor on a talented Poly squad. He's a prospect to track early on this roster.

9. Chris Gamble, Sidwell Friends

Chris Gamble is a scrappy defender and streaky 3-point shooter to keep an eye on at Sidwell Friends this season. Gamble is one of a few young prospects to keep an eye on for 2019-20 in the backcourt. He has the potential to emerge as a solid two-way threat over the next few seasons.

10. Deon Perry, Mt. Carmel

Deon Perry is listed at just 5-foot-8 but he uses his quickness well to create off the dribble. Perry is a prospect that sets the tone on both ends. He can defend 94 feet and controls the pace with the ball in his hands. He's a floor general that sets to turn heads this season at Mount Carmel.
