2024 Joah Shay named MVP, Zycheus Dobbs standouts

2024 All Stars

MVP: Joah Shay 2024 PG VA | Big Shots Elite Tri-Cities

Love seeing coach's sons shine in Big Shots over the years and Joah Shay, son of ETSU assistant Jason Shay, is one to watch. Shay led the Next WV Top 150 at 23.0 points per game putting on a shooting exhibition. A skilled PG that plays with a confident handle and has a knockdown 3-point stroke that he can get off the catch or the dribble. Joah hit 8 3 -gs in two games scoring 29 points in his final game. He makes advanced reads with the ball in hand and plays angles well on the floor. A competitive player that applies relentless at both ends and is extremely coachable. He'll be one to watch on the Big Shots Virginia 2024 Watchlist for many years to come.

Zycheus Dobbs 2024 PG WV | WV Chaos

Over the years at Big Shots WV Top 150 events it's been a joy to see the Dobbs Bros. blossom into stars. It was the older brother Zyon that came on to the scene in seventh grade and became one of the greats out of Fairmont Sr. winning two state titles and now is a freshman at JMU. Now it's Zycheus' turn to make his mark and he's done that at Big Shots since fifth grade. Similar to Zyon, Zycheus has a strong frame at that age mixed with a skill-set that allows him to create a mismatch off the bounce and use his athleticism to get to the rim at will. He plays a point forward type with versatility to handle, pass and score while mixing it up inside on the glass and defending multiple positions. At this year's WV Top 150 he played up on the high school level and scored 11 points in game two finishing well over length, hitting the mid-range jumper at a consistent rate and proving that he will be an immediate impact player at the high school ranks when that time comes. He comes from a basketball-rich background as his dad, Deon Dobbs, played at Marshall from 1997-2000.  Zycheus will be one to watch as a top prospect in West Virginia's 2024 class.

Lukas Deem 2024 G WV | WV Wildcats

Deem is efficient with his dribble and shots.  He scored 23 points in game one in a number of ways.  Like his versatile skill set and competitiveness to go get the ball for his team. He'll be a guard to watch in West Virginia's 2024 class.

Jamari Jenkins 2024 PG WV | Team Loaded

Rafael Barcinas 2024 PG WV | Life Hoops WV

Barcinas is a past all star at Big Shots WV Top 150 and he returns in similar fashion scoring 14.0 points per game earning all star accolades. A confident point guard that can shake you off the dribble finding the open man or hitting shots from all 3-levels. What he may lack in size in height he plays with a big heart. A joy to have at camp and he continues to get better each time we see him.

Aeneas Parsley-Williams 2024 PG NC | H.O.P.e. Basketball Academy

The NC native came to WV and represented! Relentless sums up Aeneas' game as he constantly was at the rim scoring or dishing for an easy bucket. At WV Top 150 his name was said frequently on the mic as he averaged 18.0 points per game and a number of assist. Like the pace he plays with the ball in his hand and understands the point guard role on when to shoot and pass. He applies the same pressure at the defensive end to get deflections leading to points off turnovers. His mentality and approach to the game will lead to success this season and the years to come.
