Shaun Kenedy was the top performer in the Class of 2023 at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 with his competitive spirit and scorer's mentality. Kenedy produced 20 points per contest and was a knockdown shooter that made five 3-pointers across the showcase games including the game winner to close out camp. He has a high basketball IQ, knows how to get open for a good look and makes the right play at all times on and off the ball. He a pure release on his jumper that will quickly have him making an impact at Athens Drive High School as a freshman this year.
We've seen the development and dominance of Sam Martin all year on the Big Shots circuit with Strong Center and it was no different at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150. A physical and versatile forward that runs rim to rim and rebounds. He put up 16 points per contest during the showcase games, showing off his touch around the rim and in the high post. Martin plays to his strengths and using his motor and physicality to fight for position inside usually winning that battle. He's a prospect that should be fun to watch over the next few years at Apex High School.
Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 was a breakout performance for Kendall Cave. His relentless motor was a factor at Big Shots Raleigh as he scored 18 points per game during showcase games. . He's a prospect that can score off the bounce and off the catch on cuts, drives and in transition. At 6'3 he has effective size & wingspan at the guard spot using his length to score in the paint and from mid-range. With his dad Greg at 6'8 and a former player at UNCW, the genes are in Kendall's favor to grow and blossom into a solid college prospect. He'll be one to watch this year at Wallace Rose Hill High School.
Joseph Bachman was a high motor forward that showed off his ability to dominate in the paint on the glass and around the rim. He put up 11 points per contest during the showcase games at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150. When he didn't get the ball on the post, he got it done on the boards, showing off his ability to use his length in the paint to make a difference. Playing alongside DeMarcus McLaurin inside at Laney, those two energy forwards will control the glass for Eric Davis' squad.
Coach's son that have a big foot and a stroke automatically catch your eye. Ryan Mackinnon falls into that category as the son of NBA G-League winningest coach in Bob MacKinnon and younger brother of two former players; the genes are in favor for Ryan to continue to grow and blossom into a college prospect. He's a highly-skilled shooter that has a knack to put the ball in the hole. He can score at an efficient rate off the catch and off the dribble and uses his length well to create space from defenders to get his shot off. The flick on his jumper is a division 1 stroke that will bring success to Chapel Hill High School very soon. Keep an eye on this MacKinnon coming up the ranks.
Xavier Deberry is an emerging combo guard that showed off his ability to drive the basketball to score the ball in the paint. We've seen him star in Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 over the years putting up numbers that earned all star honors last year and MVP in 2017. He's very methodical with the ball in his hands, getting to the paint and finishing in traffic. Deberry excelled hitting the mid-range jumper that he utilized well if he wasn't able to get to the rim. He's a prospect to watch on Big Shots NC 2023 Watchlist.
