Asa White & Kheni Briggs earn MVP honors in a loaded 2022 group

2022 All-Stars & STANDOUTS

1st Team

Co-MVP: Asa White 6’8 F - Garner (NC) | Garner Road

Since coming onto the Big Shots scene at 11, Asa White has been a prospect on our radar as a national talent and not much as changed since then other than he is now 6'8. At that size he has a high level versatility of length plus an inside-out skill set that continues to blossom. At Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 he took home the Co-MVP award for the class of 2022. White showed off his ability to play above the rim, stretch the floor with confidence from the perimeter and his presence in the paint blocking shots, rebounding and finishing.  White averaged 14 ppg at Big Shots NC Top 150. He earned an offer from Elon University yesterday as well and will be a top wing recruit in North Carolina's 2022 class.

Co-MVP: Kheni Briggs - 6’2 - G - AL Brown (NC) |  TEam cp3

Kheni Briggs is a high major combo guard that can really lock up on defense with his strength and agility. Briggs had some defensive battles with some of the top players including 2020 guard Ricky Council IV. He's a competitor with a "Never back down" attitude and it showed throughout Big Shots Raleigh as he didn't back down from most of the top players. On offense, Briggs averaged 14 ppg and had numerous assists as he was constantly getting into the paint either scoring or dishing. He plays above the rim and has the gears to rev it up or play with pace. He'll be one to keep eyes on as one of the top guards in North Carolina's 2022 class. He currently holds an offer from Elon.

Jalen Higgins - 6’5 - SG - village christian (NC) | Garner ROad

Jalen Higgins is an emerging sharpshooter that stood out with his ability to shoot from the perimeter. He's still a raw talent but Higgins did well creating off the catch and off the dribble at Big Shots Raleigh. When he's not looking to score, he's looking to push the pace on the fastbreak and get it to others as he did during the showcase. He's a prospect to keep eyes on at Village Christian Academy.

Avion Pinner - 6'8 - F - riverside (NC) | Garner road

Avion Pinner is another versatile Division-1 prospect that can play inside and out as he did at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150. With his lengthy frame & game at the wing spot he will at least attract mid-major offers. Pinner can dominate in the paint with his ability to put the ball on the deck creating a mismatch problem scoring on drives, close-outs, post up game and transition. He's beginning to knock down the 3-ball at a consistent rate and extend his range and efficiency outside of the paint. Riverside (Williamson) has a talented wing coming up the ranks.

Jaylen Jones - 5'8 - PG - UNited faith (NC) | PSB ELITE

Jaylen Jones didn't hesitate to put his stamp on Big Shots Raleigh with his ability to score on all three levels. The shifty point guard managed to finish as one of the top scorers at the showcase after putting up 22.5 points per contest and draining nine 3-pointers across the two showcase games. He's a confident scorer with the ball in his hands and doesn't let his size hold him back. He's due to make an impact this season at United Faith Christian Academy.

Neeko Taylor - 6’0 - G - farmville central (NC) | Rym warriors

Picking up where he left off in the summer, Neeko Taylor continues to impress with his developing game. He can play either guard spot, which should do him well considering he's at Farmville Central. He can handle the ball, work off the ball and did well to pace the scoring load for his squad, putting up 13.0 points per game during the showcase games. He'll be fun to watch in these next few seasons.

Landon Nall - 6’8 - PF - home school | Garner road

Landon Nall is that stretch forward that plays to his strengths and is one of the most valuable positions in the game. I noticed his stroke in the skill session and it carried over to the game.  He runs the floor well, rebounds out of the area showing a quick step and bounce. He gets to the rim and finishes with authority when given the ball in the paint. He produced 10.0 points per contest during the showcase games of the day, showing off his length on the inside.

Nigel Okwakol - 6’4 - G/F - south garner (NC) | garner road

Nigel Okwakol was an aggressive force at Big Shots Raleigh this past weekend. He's a slasher that uses his length well to get to the rim and finish in traffic. He's a guy that can get rebounds and run the fastbreak himself given his ability to handle the ball. South Garner should see some success with him on the floor this season.

Dee Barnett - 5’10 - PG - new hanover (NC)

Dee Barnett is a scrappy point guard that gets after it on both ends. He produced 13.5 points per contest, getting to the rim whenever he wanted. He didn't hesitate to shoot the basketball, either, keeping the defense off-balance whenever possible.

2nd Team

Mikhail Pocknett - 6’4 - SF - ashley (NC) | team felton - flight 22

Mikhail Pocknett is the epitome of a hustler on the hardwood. He was often the first player to the floor diving for loose balls and wasn't afraid to be physical for rebounds. He managed to average 10.0 points per contest just off knowing where to be on the floor. He's got a nice frame for his size at 6-foot-4 and has the potential to rise up the ranks with his ability to make a difference on the floor.

Nayshin Waller - 6’3 - PG - princeton (nc) | garner road

Nayshin Waller continues to improve on both sides of the ball with his size and length at 6-foot-3. He's a player that gets to the rim whenever he wants with Division-1 athleticism & skill-set that continues to improve as time progresses. Coming off a big scoring sophomore season at Princeton look for Waller to put Princeton High on the map this season.

KJ Keatts - 5’9 - PG - broughton (NC) | Garner road

K.J. Keatts showed an advanced IQ with the basketball at the lead guard spot, possibly due to being the son of NC State head coach Kevin Keatts. He didn't try to overdo things as he looked to set up teammates for scores while pacing himself with a scoring average of 8.0 points per contest. He should make an impact at Broughton High School as they're in the rebuilding stage.

Jayden Johnson - 6’2 - G - southeastern home school | tsb

Jayden Johnson put up 17.5 points per game, showing off his ability to fill it up at the combo guard spot. He can score on all three levels and was also one of the winners of the 3-Point Shootout at the Big Shots Raleigh event.

Justin Monden - 5'9 - PG - heritage (NC) | wcba

Justin Monden is a speedy point guard that is a handful to stay in front of. College coaches are in need of paint touching point guards and Monden provides that for you. Although only 5'9 in stature he has the quicks and shot making ability to create space off the bounce and score at all 3-levels. A standout on the circuit with WCBA, Monden can play the role of distributor as well as scorer. At Big Shots NC Top 150 he excelled in pick-in-roll scenarios and dissected the defense. Look for him to have an impact season at Heritage as a sophomore.

Ryan Roberts - 6'3 - SG - burlington school (NC) | nc ice

Shooters shoot and Ryan Roberts has established himself of one of the best to do it in North Carolina. Recently reclassifying to 2022 class at The Burlington School, Roberts is immediately considered a top shooter in the class. At 6'3 he can create a shot off the dribble or run off screens with range from deep. Was an all star with NC Ice on the circuit at Big Shots Greensboro Team Felton where he lit it up from long range. He doesn't need much time to get a shot off with effortless release and sound mechanics. Look for the Division-1 prospect to have a big season starring for the same coach that coached him in AAU & utilized his skill-set to perfection in Ryan Bernardi.

3rd Team

Dylan Wiggins - 6’5 - SF - cleveland (NC) | Garner road

Dylan Wiggins was fun to watch at Big Shots Raleigh with his ability to play inside and out. He knocked down the 3-ball with confidence and didn't hesitate to take his game to the paint, where he's got a nice touch around the rim. He has a nice feel for the game consistently throwing the look ahead pass off a rebound or simply making the right play whenever he had to make a read. He's a rising small forward prospect to watch for at Cleveland High School.

Nik Graves - 5'11 - PG - Durham Academy (NC) | team felton

Nik Graves is a point guard that we've had eyes on for many years and he always plays the lead guard position as a natural PG should. Graves made all the right reads as a true PG getting scorers the ball at the right time every time. Named Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 2022 All Star. At a young age you can tell when players just have it, Nikolas Graves is that way at the PG spot. He has an advanced skill set, pure lefty stroke, toughness and vision of a future high level PG. Son of two coaches that haved passed along to Nik a tremendous feel for the game. Look for him to contribute scoring more this season at Durham Academy alongside 5-star 2022 prospect MJ Rice. A future Division-1 prospect that is a top 10 PG in North Carolina's 2022 class.

Omar Harris - 6'3 - G - washington county (nc) | Garner road

Omar Harris is an athletic combo guard at 6-foot-3 with an attacking mentality with the ball in hand that finishes plays at the rim and can knockdown shots off a dribble move. He uses his length and athleticism well to make plays at both ends. He shows his versatility offensively playing 1-3 and has the strength and size to guard 1-3.  At Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 he shot the three well hitting 3 3-fgs in game one. He plays to strengths, doesn't force and brings positive winning plays to his team.

Julien King - 6'2 - G - broughton (NC) | garner road

Julien King scores on all three levels with a knack to go get the ball on the glass. A rebounding guard who is athletic and plays lock down defense. Julien was a top 2022 shooter in Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 hitting consistently from mid-range and from downtown. Efficient stroke, quick first step that can score off the bounce and catch. Active defensively getting hands on loose balls. Averaged 8 ppg in earning 2022 All Star honors at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150. Guard to watch coming up the ranks out of the Broughton - Garner Road program.

Reid Carrier  - 5'11 - G - highlands (NC) | Flight 22

Reid Carrier had the hot hand in game two where he went off a camp high 30 points. He performed well for a second straight event in the Big Shots Top 150. Carrier has a feel for the game, sells the shot, attacks close outs and can finish or dish with creativity. He had several flashy passes that led to easy buckets. He can hit the outside shot at a consistent rate. A solid young player out of Western North Carolina.

Jeremy Aldrich - 6’0 - PG - New hanover (NC) | flight 22

Love seeing the development of coaches sons over the years at Big Shots and Jeremy Aldrich is one that continues to improve. He put folks on notice at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 with his sharpshooting ability and pace at the PG spot that continues to improve. The son of assistant coach at Brunswick Community College Tiger Aldrich is a lefty showed off his range during the showcase games by draining three 3-pointers and is beginning to be more aggressive scoring as he grows in confidence. He sees the floor and gets other scorers involved making the right reads with the ball in his hands. He'll be one to keep eyes on at New Hanover.

4th Team

Baron Williams - 5'5 - PG - garner road

Baron Williams can score at all 3-levels at 5'5. An All Star at past Big Shots Top 150 camp, Baron is a bucket getter PG. A shot making point guard that is confident and can fill it up from 3 off the catch. Although small in size he uses quicks to get to his spots, gets into the paint and makes the right reads hitting a floater or dishing to the open man. Averaged 8 ppg at the camp and earned 2022 All Star honors.

Bryson Thomas - 6'2 - SF - winston salem christian (NC) | wcba

A mismatch problem at the offensive end with  the strength of a power forward and guard skills with soft hands, Bryson Thomas averaged 13 ppg at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 earning all star honors. He finished shots at the rim off drives and post moves mixing in a consistent mid-range jumper.  He passes well out of the high post finding cutters. An all star on the circuit with WCBA.

Bradlee Wolf - 6’8 - PF - topsail (NC) | wbc

Bradley Wolf was impressive in the post with his solid footwork and awareness around the rim. When given the ball, good things tended to happen at Big Shots Raleigh. He was a solid back-to-the-basket threat throughout the event and has brute strength he uses well on both ends. A sleeper big out of Topsail (NC) that will be on college coaches radar very soon as a top big in the Port City region.

Kyle Austin Jr. - 5'10 - PG - southern school of energy (NC) | no guts no glory

True point guards play the role of an extension of the coach and Kyle Austin Jr. showed that at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150. He displayed a tight handle, hit open shots and controlled the tempo of games when on the floor. The No Guts No Glory, Southern School of Energy PG set the tone at the defensive end. He averaged 8 ppg earning all star accolades.

AJ Woodard - 5'7 - PG - north raleigh christian academy (NC) | Juice all stars

The North Raleigh Christian Academy product is a quick point guard that’s shoots well on and off the dribble and gets into the paint at a high rate. AJ Woodard connected on three 3-point fgs in game 1 scoring 11 points. A standout for Juice All Stars on the circuit takes pride on the defensive end applying constant ball pressure at the defensive end.

Joshua Johnson - 5'10 - PG - no guts no glory

Players with talent stand out in our events. Players with talent and character you don't forget and that's how Joshua Johnson is at Big Shots. There's not a day that he's been in the gym at Big Shots where he's not bringing positive energy and production to the floor. A pure playmaking point guard that has a shifty handle allowing to him create off the dribble for himself or teammates. A two-way player who plays 94 ft all game. Was all star for No Guts No Glory on the Big Shots circuit. He shoots the 3 well and can finish with creativity at the rim. Scored 11 points in game two at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150 earning all star honors.

Maleec Myers - 5'8 - PG - new hanover (NC) | wbc

New Hanover traditionally has always had speedy point guards that run the show for Kirk Angel and Maleec Myers is another one coming up the ranks. He pushes tempo off a make or miss and puts constant pressure on the defense off the dribble. I like his decision making in traffic knowing when to shoot or pass. He can score at all 3-levels but showed his ability to facilitate at Big Shots Raleigh NC Top 150. New Hanover will be guard heavy this season and Myers has the ability to impact with his quickness at both ends of the floor.

Daniel Lee - 5'11 - PG - leesville (NC) | nc runnin rebels

If there was a 50-50 ball Daniel Lee was on the floor winning it. He had his head on a swivel defensively getting deflections that lead to steals and easy buckets at the other end. Playing at Leesville he'll be challenged and getting better everyday playing alongside  NC's No. 1 PG in Carter Whitt. Lee is a slashing guard with a decent handle. Continue to develop jumper to be consistent from 3. Does a majority of his damage in the open court and in the paint.
