Co-MVP: Anthony "AJ" Clark, Menchville

A.J. Clark stood out with his ability to fill it up from all three levels. The slashing lefty finished at a high rate scoring 14.5 points per contest across the showcase games. He showed off his ability to score using his length at 6-foot-2 especially left and has a stroke with range beyond the arc.  A crafty wing with instinctive court vision with willingness to learn and be coached. He was a past MVP at Big Shots Mid-Atlantic two years ago and returns in the same fashion in 2019.

Co-MVP: Steven Stinson Jr, Trinity Episcopal

Steven Stinson Jr. was one of the top athletes and overall prospects in the Mid-Atlantic Top 150. At a lengthy 6-foot-4, Stinson plays with a confident bouncy step in his game getting to the paint at will.  He was unstoppable going to the rim, with high level tendencies at finishing either with a flush or a variety of floaters or step backs from mid-range. He put together a scoring average of 13.0 points per game. Defensively he rebounds out of the area, pursues the ball and has the frame and athleticism to be a shutdown defender. Always one of the better athletes in the state in the 2023 class, it was his polished skill set & development of his jumper with range that stood out to me. As his game continues to blossom, Steven is a Division 1 prospect in Virginia's 2023 class to keep an eye on.

Etienne Strothers, Menchville

Keep an eye out for another member of the Strothers family to step into the spotlight this season with Etienne Strothers entering his freshman year. Strothers plays well within himself and looks to distribute as a true point guard on the floor.  When you watch Etienne you see traits in his game that show for a bright future especially knowing his genes (brother Allen is a Division-1 2021 PG prospect). In talking with his dad, former NBA player Lamont Strothers, Etienne picks up on things quickly, continues to grow and has his best ball ahead of him. He has an effortless stroke with range off the catch or dribble with a high arch. He glides on the floor with the ball in hand and has instincts to be at the right spot-right time. His game translates to the division 1 level and excited to see his development over the course of his high school career.

Isaiah Luckie, Northside

Isaiah Luckie stood out as a two-way threat at the Big Shots Mid-Atlantic Top 150. He gets after it on both ends, especially on defense with his ability to pressure the basketball and come up with loose balls. Offensively, he made plays with effort and a high basketball IQ scoring on cuts, offensive rebounding and simply beating his man down the floor. He's another freshman prospect to keep an eye on.

Devin Keasey, Menchville

Devin Keasey was another member of Menchville High School's squad to turn heads at the Big Shots Mid-Atlantic Top 150. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard showed off his abilities as a sharpshooter, passer and rebounder. He has a high basketball IQ along with size allowing him to play multiple positions and be a threat on and off the ball. Similar to Etienne Strothers, Devin is the younger brother coming up the ranks in the Menchville program that will be a college prospect (older brother Jaden a 2020 college prospect).  His a shooting you can't leave on the perimeter or he will make you pay.  Look for him to make an impact at Menchville very soon. 

Michael Patrick, Hanover

Michael Patrick is a versatile prospect that can play inside and out at his height of 6-foot-3. He showed good range shooting the basketball from behind the arc. His best asset was his efficiency at the offensive & defensive end, playing smart and tough. Patrick averaged 10 ppg at Big Shots Mid-Atlantic Top 150.

Ashton Holland Lane, Lakeland

Ashton Holland Lane floor game is what stood out to me at the Mid-Atlantic Top 150. A solid ballhandler that makes good decisions with the ball as a facilitator, never flustered with pressure and always looking to make the right play. He showed off his shooting ability as well during the drills and games portion of the day. He's got a high IQ for making things happen when he touches the ball earning 2023 All Star honors.
