Check out the latest on the recruitment and upcoming season with 5-star forward Isaiah Todd

Forward Isaiah Todd has become a household name on the high school and prep scene with his abilities on the hardwood. At 6-foot-10, he's got the skill set of a guard while still being able to take defenders off the dribble and finish at the rim. This season, he's ready to lead the way for Word of God Christian Academy.

You’re down to a final five of UNC, Michigan, Kansas, Memphis and Kentucky. Give an outlook of where you fit with each program.

Isaiah Todd: Michigan: Their pitch to me...as Coach Juwan Howard already been here to watch me at Word of God...was that I can play just like I'm playing here at Word of God. It would be an easy transition and I'd be the only person at my position coming in the class.

Kansas: Same deal with Kansas. I'd be the only player at my position that they're recruiting. They're looking for me to come in and be the guy and hopefully have a great season with them if I was to go there.

UNC: They kind of want me to come in and be that stretch-4 for them...start the offense and push the ball up the floor some and be able to post up under the rim. Basically show my versatility.

Memphis: I haven't really talked to Coach Penny Hardaway yet. We have to have a sit down when I take my official visit. I canceled that for this weekend due to some scheduling errors.

Kentucky: Their pitch to me was to basically come see the school and campus and that I'd fall in love with it and that I would be the missing that they need.

Something that’s impressed me is your composure no matter the score. What helps you stay focused when things aren't always going your way?

IT: What helps me stay focused is the anger. When things aren't going my way the competitiveness is what I'm trying to get at. Just as a true competitor, when you want to win so bad and things aren't going right, something else just kicks in...that extra gear that you switch to.

The more I've seen you play, the more you’ve added to your game. What's your thought process in developing your game?

IT: Just to get better every day. Just to prepare myself more and more for the NBA. Just to be effective so I can make it in the NBA. And to be a leader, every day.

What are you looking forward to the most this season?

IT: I'm looking forward to a lot this season but I guess what I'm looking forward to is seeing my teammates as they get better. Same thing with my team from last season, from the beginning to the end, it was great to see their development and see I had something to do with that.

Which player on this team do you think will really complement your game?

IT: I feel like everybody on this team fits so perfectly together that we all complement each other. Not to say that to avoid the question or anything, but everybody on this team is special. It's crazy how we've gelled together in such a short amount of time.

They've been working out for roughly a week but things are already looking mighty special at Word of God in Raleigh. Stay tuned for more as they're loaded with the likes of 2020 point guard Chase Forte, 2022 wing PoBoigh King, 2020 forward Saiquone Harris, 2020 big man Josiah Shackleford and more!
