The 2022 class in North Carolina is beginning to emerge as quite the strong one. We’ve taken a look at the Top 10 point guards already, here’s a look at the top shooting guards to watch in the 2022 class.

1. M.J. Rice, Durham Academy

M.J. Rice is emerging as a highly-rated prospect in North Carolina’s 2022 class. He had quite the summer after attending the NBPA Top 100 Camp where he showed off his abilities on the hardwood. He’s got the ability to finish above the rim, stroke it from behind the arc and create shots with the ball in his hands at a high level already. Providence, Ole Miss, Boston College, Pittsburgh and North Carolina Central.

2. Kheni Briggs, A.L. Brown

Kheni Briggs is another prospect that’s starting to pick up steam on the recruiting trail in North Carolina. He’s an explosive athlete that can get to the rim and finish with a highlight with the ball in his hands. He averaged 14.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game at the varsity level for A.L. Brown High School in 2018-19. He does a little bit of everything off the wing and already holds an offer from Elon.

3. Noah Ross, Trinity Academy

Noah Ross is quite the sharpshooter on the wing in North Carolina’s 2022 class. He’ll be attending Trinity Academy in Raleigh after transferring from Apex Friendship this past season. He’s got a nice floor game which allows him to score at volume from all three levels. He’s a player that will make you pay if you leave him open and is due for a strong sophomore campaign in new territory.

4. Silas Demary Jr., Millbrook

Silas Demary Jr. is a name to know at powerhouse Millbrook High School. He’s a long wiry guard that plays at a very high level on both ends. He’s relentless on the boards, an aggressive slasher with the ball and defends at a high level. He’s due to play a big role on the varsity squad this season and should turn heads with his energy and length on both ends.

5. Bryce Scott, Gaston Day

Bryce Scott is a combo guard with handles for Gaston Day High School. He played on the varsity squad as a freshman, already setting the tone for his prep career. He’s quick with the ball, uses his strength well to get to the rim when necessary and is a relentless rebounder on the hardwood. He’s due to make an even bigger impact at Gaston Day this season.

6. Amari Pearson, Fayetteville Academy

Amari Pearson is a high-flying guard listed at 6-foot-3 at Fayetteville Academy. He’s an energy guy that’s looking to dunk everything when he’s driving to the rim and was quite the impact player on Team Wall this past summer. His motor stands out more than anything else. He’s due to make waves on the recruiting trail with his ability to play above the rim on one end and block shots on defense.

7. James Wilkins III, Calvary Day

James Wilkins III has become quite the staple at Calvary Day School, especially in his freshman season. He’s played on the varsity squad since his eighth-grade year as he looks to improve his stock at the combo guard spot. He can score at will off the dribble and from deep. His development is something to keep an eye on.

8. Isaac Holmes, Cary Christian

Isaac Holmes is a crafty shooting guard at Cary Christian with a solid all-around floor game. Holmes plays with a nice stop-and-go style which allows for him to control the tempo of the game and keep the defense off balance. He’s got a nice pull-up that he utilizes as well given his length at 6-foot-4. With his speed and length, he’s another prospect that should garner some attention from college coaches.

9. Michael Zanoni, Providence Day

Michael Zanoni is a pure shooter that’s making plays over at Providence Day High School. Zanoni is a lights-out shooter that can score with the ball in his hands and also does a solid job of moving without the ball, which allows for him to find his spots on the floor. He’s a high IQ guy with a knack for scoring and making plays. Keep a close watch on this kid as he’s due to break out in Charlotte.

10. Truman ClaytoN, Overhills

Truman Clayton is finding his way at Overhills High School as a key role player. Clayton appeared in 22 varsity games for Overhills in 2018-19 making his impact in a variety of ways. He’s a prospect that’s still developing his game as a distributor but when given the green light to score, he doesn’t hesitate a bit. He’s a prospect to keep eyes on with a new high school season approaching.
