The Big Shots South Carolina Top 150 brings in many of the state's top prospects each year. Past MVP's have included Devontae Shuler, Tevin Mack, Jalek Felton, Juwan Gary and CJ Felder. This year it was the Butler commit, Top 125 national talent Myles Tate that took home MVP honors. Here’s a look at the All-Stars and standouts from the 2020 class.

MVP: Myles Tate, Dorman

Myles Tate showed off in the Big Shots Top 150 for the state of South Carolina, evidencing why he’s such a solid get for the Butler Bulldog’s 2020 recruiting class. The 3-time state champion lead guard stands at 6-foot tall, displayed his knack to create shots off the dribble using his lightning quickness and range on his jumper. Tate battled it out with other point guards at the camp and set himself apart with his performance and his leadership. A championship talent and character point guard that comes into the season as the favorite to win his fourth straight state title at Dorman. Tate brings the total package that will quickly contribute to wins at Butler.  Four-star point guard currently ranks in the Top 125 nationally and is the No. 1 point guard in the state of South Carolina.

First Team

Quentin Hodge, Lakewood Senior

Quentin Hodge is a highly-rated combo guard at  6-foot-5 with elite athleticism and a solid skillset, averaged 15 ppg at Big Shots SC Top 150. He’s the type of prospect in South Carolina's 2020 class that college coaches have recently found great success with due to his athleticism and high ceiling. He has a solid handle with quickness that allows him to create space to make a play at the rim or touch and balance on his jumper to pull up. Hodge can play either guard spot which won't surprise me to see him even play some point guard at the next level with his playmaking ability.  Hodge ranks No. 4 in Big Shots SC 2020 ranks holding offers from the likes of Florida Gulf Coast, Mercer, SC State, Murray State, App State, Winthrop, Coastal Carolina, Siena, College of Charleston, Hofstra, UT-Martin, Presbyterian and Murray State. Hodge produces big numbers not only on the court but also the classroom. He averaged 22 ppg, 8 rpg, 4 apg as a junior at Lakewood Senior and followed it up averaging nearly 12 ppg with the Georgia Stars on the Nike EYBL. Most impressively he carries a 4.7 GPA. For good reason he holds 10+ offers and will be heavily followed on the recruiting trail going into his senior season. 

Isaiah Caldwell, Heathwood Hall

Isaiah Caldwell is another explosive guard at 6-foot-4 that put on a show with both his bounce and his ability to knock it down from deep and mid-range. He has starred in the last 3 Big Shots SC Top 150 camps and 2019 was no different where he shot an efficient high percentage scoring 16 ppg. Caldwell is due for a breakout 2020 season with his ability to use his length to get to the rim and create off the dribble excelling playing the mid-range game. His elevation on his jumper allowed him to get a shot off at his pleasure. He runs the break hard and finishes way above the rim off the wing when the ball is thrown his way. His aggressive mentality should turn heads and earn him more offers. He’s currently got offers from Army, Navy, USC-Upstate and Presbyterian and ranks Top 10 in Big Shots South Carolina's 2020 rankings.

Zaire Rogers, Gray Collegiate

Zaire Rogers is a transfer from Immaculate Concepcion (NJ) and is due for a strong season at Gray Collegiate. He showed a knack for getting to the rim time and time again using his 6-foot-7 frame and underrated handles that led to him averaging 14 ppg at SC Top 150. He got rebound after rebound and led the break, finishing strong at the rim on numerous occasions. Rogers played on the Nike EYBL circuit this season with Jersey Playaz 16U where he averaged 16 ppg. He holds an offer from St. Peter’s and has drawn interest from Georgia State, College of Charleston. Wichita State, Coastal Carolina and Presbyterian.

Tauris Watson, Gray Collegiate

Tauris Watson is a prospect with tons of athleticism and playmaking ability in his wheelhouse. He’s a 6-foot-2 guard that won the Big Shots Top 150 South Carolina Dunk Contest with his jaw-dropping dunks then went on to average 15 ppg in the game sessions. Watson can facilitate just as well as he can get to the rim with his big guard frame despite his 6-foot-2 height. He finishes in traffic well and showed a knack for drawing fouls as well. He holds an offer from Coker College and received interest from the college coaches on hand.

Jacquez Shuler, Gray Collegiate

Jacquez Shuler is an emerging big man prospect with tons of talent to his game. He runs the floor well with pace and gets to his spots on the block. He has nice hands in the post and uses his body well to hold position in the paint. At 6-foot-11, he finished most of his shots at the rim with dunks and continues to improve. He has a chance to grow into quite the prospect as he’s drawn interest from Wofford, Elon, North Florida, South Carolina State, USC-Upstate, Presbyterian and holds an offer from Claflin.

Second Team

Kaiden Mines, West Ashley

Kaiden Mines is an emerging point guard that plays strong for his size at 5-foot-10. Mines showed consistency with his shot during the skills session and games portion as a shooter from deep where he averaged 13 ppg at SC Top 150. When he wasn’t scoring, he used his fundamentals to breakdown the defense and get others involved. Mines was a top ball handler in skill session. He hasn’t drawn any interest yet but should be one to keep an eye on at West Ashley High School.

Malik Hailey, Lake City

Malik Hailey is another explosive point guard prospect that can get to the rim although his first inclination is to pass first. He got his teammates involved and made a concerted effort to crash the glass in order to get rebounds and get out on the fastbreak. When in transition he completed at the rim scoring 18 points in game 1, 15 in game 2 to averaged 16.5 ppg for the camp. He was an All-Region performer this past season at the 3A level and is due to make quite the impact this upcoming season.

Maurice Bell  Heathwood Hall

Maurice Bell is a 5-foot-8 point guard prospect that has a defensive-minded game. He locked up on defense, looking to create havoc and chaos and turned it into solid offense on the other end. He’s a facilitator that can create for others but also score on all three levels. He showed a little bit of everything during the game’s portion of the day. He’s drawn interest from Lincoln Memorial.

Jordan Pratt, Richland Northeast

Jordan Pratt is a 6-foot-4 wing prospect with a high-motor, especially on the defensive end. He’s an intriguing forward with his ability to battle down low and alter shots. He facilitated to his key players as well, understanding the situational aspects of the game.

Patrick Antonelli, Bishop England

Patrick Antonelli is a 5-foot-9 point guard prospect that played with poise and hustle. He created steals and didn’t back down from the bigger players he faced, often making things difficult for them as a defender. On offense, he got his teammates involved and put them in position to score as well. Being a coach's son (son of ESPN TV analyst Debbie Antonelli), Patrick makes the right reads and high basketball IQ plays you want in a point guard. Brings a positive energy & winning attributes to your team. Considering several options for college in walk-on positions at high level programs and Division 3 interest. 

Yaph Holmes, James Island Charter

Yaph Holmes showed his stuff as a shooter and slasher during the BigShots Top 150 event. He knocked down shots from the arc and got to the rim when needed. His most underrated trait was his presence on the glass. He had a solid number of putbacks for points and wasn’t afraid to roam amongst bigger prospects.
