Here’s a look at the 2020 power forwards and center prospects in the state of North Carolina.

The 2020 rankings are just about updated in the state of North Carolina as the 2019-20 season approaches. So far, we’ve posted the updated rankings for point guards, shooting guards and small forwards. Here’s a look at the 2020 power forwards and center prospects in the state of North Carolina.

1. Isaiah Todd, Word of God

Isaiah Todd is another forward prospect out of the state of North Carolina that’s a Top 25 talent in the nation. He has the ability to play either forward spot and can post up at the center position. His playmaking ability is his biggest asset, whether it be with the ball in his hands or on the break, Todd is a player that’s fun to watch.

He’s down to a final five of North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis and Michigan. Whatever school he picks is bound to have NCAA Tournament hopes and then some.

2. Jaylon Gibson, Grace Christian

Jaylon Gibson is quite the big man prospect at 6-foot-10 at Grace Christian. He didn’t waste much time with his recruiting, committing to Wake Forest back in June after earning offers from a number of high major programs.

Gibson can play in the post, shoot the 3-ball and make plays with his passing ability. He’s an unselfish big man that can get to the rim and finish with authority but also shoot with consistency. He’s one prospect whose rise has been a surprise to many.

3. Nick Farrar, Apex Friendship

Another big man prospect whose seen their rise in the past few months is 6-foot-6 big man Nick Farrar. Farrar is another ACC commit to the NC State Wolfpack that earned a large number of Division I offers for his abilities on the hardwood.

He can score on all three levels, getting to his spots on the interior as well as creating shots off the dribble. When he’s not scoring, he’s a burden on the glass that’s one of his more underrated qualities.

4. Javarzia Belton, Moravian Prep

One big man that’s due for a strong 2019-20 season is 6-foot-10 center Javarzia Belton. He’s developed solid hands in the post and can get up and down the floor with relative quickness. On defense, he’s tough on the boards and protects the rim with solid court awareness.

Belton has had quite the spring/summer with Team Loaded North Carolina on the Adidas circuit. He’s racked up a solid number of offers of late, including from Rhode Island, Texas A&M, Drexel and Hofstra. There’s certainly more offers heading his way.

5. Nick McMullen, Ben L. Smith

Nick McMullen is a solid power forward prospect, especially in the frontcourt. He’s got long arms and all the strength to go with it and brings down the rim with the ball in his hands. He’s a lefty with a high motor and solid face-up game in the post.

McMullen is another big man that’s seen his stock on the rise in North Carolina’s 2020 class. He’s pulled in over 20 offers from Division I programs from the likes of VCU, Radford, Murray State, George Washington among others.

6. Dean Reiber, Northwest Guilford

Dean Reiber is an emerging big man who should catch on with a mid-major program or higher as well. He’s already gotten offers from Penn State, Rutgers, ODU and could rake in a whole lot more with a strong senior campaign.

Reiber will emerge as one of the top available bigs in the 2020 class before it’s all said and done. He plays the paint well on offense, getting easy buckets with his positioning and rebounds well and holds his own defensively. Look for him to have a big senior year on the high school level.

7. Justice Ajogbor, The Christ School

Justice Ajogbor is one of the more athletic big men to make the list for the state of North Carolina. Ajogbor is a high-flying post that loves to finish above the rim. On defense, he’s flying around the paint to block shots.

He’s already got a good number of Division I programs knocking on his door for his services. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he added a few more offers to his stable by the end of the season.

8. Kaleb Scott, Holly Springs

Kaleb Scott is a rising 2020 prospect that has the ability to play either forward position as well as in the post. His broad shoulders allow him to bully opposing defenders at the rim. He sees the floor well and doesn’t overdo things with the ball in his hands.

Scott has had a solid number of mid-major programs offer (Wofford, Georgia State, East Carolina, George Mason) as his senior year approaches. As he learns to establish himself around the rim more, look for his recruitment to really grow.

9. Mylyjael Poteat, The Burlington School

Mylyjael Poteat is an athletic big man that has nice footwork and can get up and down the floor with pace. At 6-foot-9, Poteat is a center that has an underrated ability to handle the ball and can protect the paint with his ability to block shots.

Poteat has a nice upside on both ends of the floor and is set to make a college program look good for four years. He holds roughly 10 Division I offers from Radford, Lehigh, Dartmouth, Bucknell and Boston.

10. Jonas Aidoo, Voyager Academy

One prospect that’s really been picking things up on the basketball court is Voyager Academy big man Jonas Aidoo. He’s got a high IQ on the defensive end, forcing steals and blocking shots at a high rate. On offense, he can stretch the floor with his ability to shoot the ball and create off the dribble.

Aidoo is a solid rebounder and as he adds strength to his 6-foot-9 frame, look for him to become a problem in the post. He’s a prospect that could prep after the 2019-20 season.
