So far, BigShots.net has covered the Top 10 point guards and shooting guards in the state of North Carolina’s 2020 class. On this post, we take a look at the Top 10 small forwards in the 2020 class.

1. Josh Hall, Moravian Prep

Josh Hall has been one of the fastest rising prospects in the 2020 class at Moravian Prep. Hall has gone from unranked to Top 45 prospect in the nation in just over a year. This past summer, he showed off his abilities as a top scorer with the ball in his hands.

He can score on all three levels as well as get to the rim and finish through contact. He’s got nice handles and length which allows him to score over opponents with relative ease. At 6-foot-9, he’s a guard in a forward’s body. He holds over 35 offers from Division I programs, including Kansas, NC State, Louisville, LSU, Georgia, Georgetown, among others.

2. Silas Mason, Ben L. Smith

Silas Mason is one wing prospect you don’t want to leave alone or he’ll most likely put you on a poster. Mason is athleticism personified with the ball in his hands, finishing above the rim when given the chance. At 6-foot-6, Mason is a matchup nightmare on the wing when not contained.

Mason could go high-major or mid-major, depending on where he chooses to go at the next level. If he can show scouts he can knock down the jump shot consistently, he could end up with a lot more offers. He currently holds over 20 offers from the likes of Florida, Houston, Georgetown, Wichita State, Kansas State, Wichita State and more.

3. Justin Thomas, Village Christian Academy

It wouldn’t be surprising if Justin Thomas‘ recruitment really picked up during his senior season. At 6-foot-6, Thomas is a prospect who turned heads this past summer with his ability to play above the rim. He can get up off the wing for a player of his caliber and has a tendency to shoot the 3-ball as well.

He caught the attention of a few Division I programs this past spring/summer as he holds offers from Georgia Tech and East Carolina. Look for his list of offers to pick up during the high school season.

4. Jaden Seymour, Northside Christian Academy

Jaden Seymour is quite the forward/wing prospect at 6-foot-8 with his ability to get to the rim and knock down the 3-pointer. He put up 16.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest at Northside Christian Academy in 2018-19 as they went 23-12 on the season.

Seymour suffered an ACL injury that sidelined him for much of the summer but he should be back just in time for the high school season. He was well on his way to a strong campaign on the summer circuit but was sidelined due to injury. He still holds offers from Coastal Carolina, Elon, App State, College of Charleston, Virginia Tech, NC State and South Florida.

5. Josh Massey, United Faith Christian Academy

Josh Massey is a player that opponents don’t want to leave open. He can score on all three levels, knocking it down from behind the arc as well as getting to the rim and finish with authority. He blossomed towards the end of the summer as he learned to use his strength to get to the paint. He’s also an underrated defender.

Massey is a prospect who should see more offers come his way since earning offers from Illinois, Winthrop, High Point, Wofford, Elon and Eastern Washington. As he develops into more of a versatile prospect, he’s one player who should turn heads this upcoming 2019-20 season.

6. Luke Davis, Moravian Prep

Luke Davis is a high-flying wing prospect that has the ability to play either forward position in the rotation for his team. He’s an aggressive slasher with the ball in his hands and without the ball, he never stops moving on offense.

Davis can extend the floor with his ability to shoot the 3 but will get to the rim when necessary. On defense, he can guard multiple positions with his length and strength. He’s yet another reason why Moravian Prep is considered a top team in the state. He doesn’t have a lot of offers just yet but that should change after the 2019-20 season.

7. Daniel Ransom, Vance

Daniel Ransom is quite the load on the hardwood at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds. He is already committed to Western Carolina and is set to give them quite a versatile piece. While he’s an athlete that can play above the rim on offense, his biggest asset is what he brings on defense.

Ransom can defend the wing and post position given his length and strength at 200 pounds. He sets quite the tone as a rim protector when he’s on the floor and showed off his abilities for Team Charlotte, a member of the Under Armour circuit, this past spring/summer. He’s one forward prospect that has tons of potential on the floor.

8. Ahmil Flowers, Grimsley

Ahmil Flowers has had a strong spring/summer to close out his 2020 campaign. He’s a 6-foot-5 forward that can guard the 2-4 position and does well to create for himself in space. He does solid work in the post-up game, using his body well to establish position and get to the rim. When he’s not posting up, he’s getting to the rim off the dribble and finishing strong.

Flowers is down to a final three of High Point, Western Carolina and Radford. Either of those schools will be lucky to have his services for the next four years.

9. Brady O’Connell, Ravenscroft

Brady O’Connell does quite the damage from the wing position, especially when playing above the rim. O’Connell is a springy lefty wing that can put his defender on a poster or knock it down from 3-point land. He’s an aggressive player that does well to make things happen when the ball touches his hands.

He’s got a nice feel for the game and doesn’t try to overdo things with his dribble-drive. O’Connell holds offers from Mercer, Elon and Samford.

10. Reggie Raynor, Northwood Temple

Reggie Raynor is a tough draw for opposing defenders with his ability to play above the rim. At 6-foot-5, Raynor has the ability to get to the rim off 1-2 dribbles and finish strong in the paint. He can shoot the ball when he has a rhythm and is a nightmare on the fastbreak.

Raynor is a player that’s lethal in the halfcourt and could push for a strong 2019-20 season from a solid Northwood Temple squad. He holds offers from Coppin State, Tennessee State, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive and Catawba College.
